About The Position

The Canada Finance team at Capital One is primarily responsible for the planning, forecasting, and analysis of the financial performance of the Canada business. A key aspect of the team's role is to influence and guide management in making financially and strategically astute decisions. The individual in this role will collaborate with the finance FP&A team and various business teams across Capital One to conduct financial modeling and ongoing analysis of the existing portfolio and its performance. This position involves informing and guiding business decision-making, gathering and visualizing data, crafting compelling narratives through presentations, collaborating with subject matter experts in areas such as legal and customer acquisitions, and influencing senior leadership on critical decisions.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in a related role
  • At least 3 years of experience partnering with senior leaders and internal stakeholders
  • At least 1 year of direct or indirect people management experience
  • A bachelor’s degree or higher

Nice To Haves

  • CPA or CFA
  • At least 3 years of experience in financial services, banking or technology industries
  • At least 3 years of experience using SQL, Python, or a combination

Responsibilities

  • Ownership of the Annual Budget, Monthly Financial Forecast and the Long-Term Financial Plan
  • Deliver accurate and meaningful financial management analyses to enable our partners to deliver on their financial and business objectives; contribute to, and deliver, presentations to communicate results, outcomes and actions to senior audiences
  • Analyze current and past trends in key performance indicators, highlighting trends and analyzing causes of unexpected variance
  • Provide transparency on risks and opportunities at the total company level
  • Address and deliver on ad-hoc requests and special projects, often in an ambiguous environment
  • Independently manage and prioritize workload
  • Oversee a team of junior analysts on the team
  • Demonstrate a passion to learn and continuously develop traditional FP&A and technical skills
