About The Position

Provide and maintain the integrity of financial information for the company. Oversee the annual budget process for the Tennessee location. Assist in the external audit process.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Accounting with advanced knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Office.
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience to include demonstrated ability in financial accounting, budgeting, inventory/cost control experience, and 3-5 years supervisory/management experience.
  • Strong spreadsheet skills are mandatory.
  • Thorough knowledge of general ledger and related transactions, budget and financial reporting.
  • Computer skills should include above average experience and knowledge in spreadsheets, word processing and Windows based environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide, analyze and maintain integrity of financial information to internal users.
  • Assure timely and accurate financial information to Management.
  • Oversee period-end closing which includes preparing and posting journal entries and correct classification of transactions and accounts on the general ledger.
  • Assure all transactions are reviewed and input to the general ledger timely.
  • Prepare monthly "latest best estimates" of the financial forecast each week.
  • Review monthly production budget variances with appropriate managers.
  • Analyze purchase price variances, material and labor variances weekly and monthly and report findings and recommendations to Management.
  • Analyze yield variance on a periodic basis and work with others to identify potential yield enhancement steps.
  • Enforce purchasing policies and provide advice and direction on best practices
  • Analyze and review capital requests; review and categorize capital spending projects for Corporate Finance.
  • Draft and submit capital project requests on behalf of the plant, partnering with the project manager
  • Partner with the capital project managers to track capital project spending versus the budget and explain any variances
  • Oversee all plant-related capital projects and close them timely
  • Enforce capital spending policies and provide advice on capital versus expense spending
  • Maintain and prepare financial reports which include period-end cost center spending, budget reporting and any special reports needed by Management.
  • Manage the annual operating budget process including setting standards for material, labor and overhead; prepare and summarize financial budget statements for Management.
  • Oversee preparation of annual cost center budget files, maintain payroll information, and assist preparers.
  • Provide Management and other internal users reports, and analysis as required.
  • Assist with schedules and information for external audits.
  • Assist in special projects as needed.
