About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Manager, Epic Inpatient Applications & Community Connect Optimization to lead a team of analysts supporting enterprise-wide Epic inpatient applications and Community Connect initiatives. This leader will oversee post-go-live stabilization, optimization efforts, operational support, and strategic project execution across multiple hospitals and affiliated organizations. The ideal candidate will bring a strong experience in Epic application management, Community Connect implementations, healthcare IT operations, and team leadership. This position requires a proven ability to lead both large-scale and smaller optimization initiatives while fostering strong partnerships with internal stakeholders, Community Connect Success Managers, and Epic representatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Informatics, Information Technology, Business, Healthcare Administration, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated experience managing healthcare IT teams and application support functions.
  • Proven experience leading or supporting Community Connect implementations and optimization initiatives.
  • Strong knowledge of Epic inpatient and clinical application workflows.
  • Experience overseeing complex application portfolios and cross-functional teams.
  • Proven ability to manage post-go-live stabilization and optimization projects.
  • Strong leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to balance operational support responsibilities with strategic project execution.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience as an Epic Manager, Application Manager, Director, or Healthcare IT Leader.
  • Experience as a Project Manager leading Epic or large-scale healthcare technology initiatives.
  • Prior experience partnering directly with Epic and Community Connect organizations.
  • Experience supporting multi-hospital health systems.
  • PMP certification is welcomed but not required.
  • Epic certification is not required.
  • Expert-level experience supporting Epic inpatient clinical applications.
  • Experience leading optimization initiatives within acute care and community hospital environments.
  • Strong understanding of clinical workflows, application governance, and healthcare operations.
  • Experience managing both operational support teams and project-based workstreams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of approximately 16 analysts, with anticipated growth as Community Connect initiatives expand.
  • Establish performance expectations, operational standards, and professional development plans for team members.
  • Drive accountability, collaboration, and service excellence across the application support organization.
  • Manage resource allocation and prioritization to support organizational goals and project demands.
  • Provide leadership and oversight for Community Connect-related initiatives and optimization efforts.
  • Partner closely with Community Connect Success Managers, operational leaders, and Epic representatives to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Support affiliated hospitals and community partners through implementation, stabilization, optimization, and operational readiness activities.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor for Community Connect growth and application support strategies.
  • Provide leadership and support for the following Epic application areas: ASAP, ClinDoc, Orders, Case Management, Bugsy (Infection Control), Stork, Behavioral Health, Rehabilitation Services, Inpatient Willow.
  • Lead post-go-live stabilization and continuous optimization efforts across supported Epic applications.
  • Manage enterprise and hospital-specific optimization projects designed to improve workflows, user satisfaction, and operational efficiency.
  • Oversee project planning, execution, stakeholder communications, risk management, and delivery outcomes.
  • Collaborate with clinical, operational, and technical teams to identify enhancement opportunities and implement best-practice solutions.
  • Drive standardization and adoption of optimized workflows across the organization.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with executive leadership, operational leaders, clinicians, and external partners.
  • Serve as a key escalation point for application-related issues and strategic initiatives.
  • Communicate project status, risks, opportunities, and operational performance to leadership.
