About The Position

The Manager, Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) is responsible for leading and advancing the organization's safety programs across multiple manufacturing locations while supporting environmental compliance and reporting initiatives. This role partners closely with the Corporate Sustainability Manager to ensure compliance with environmental reporting requirements, including air, water, and stormwater permits. The successful candidate will drive a proactive safety culture by developing and implementing EHS programs, conducting audits and risk assessments, leading training initiatives, investigating incidents, and ensuring compliance with all applicable environmental, health, and safety regulations. This position requires a hands-on leader who can influence safety performance across the organization and support continuous improvement efforts.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in safety management role with Manufacturing.
  • In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and standards, including OSHA and ANSI requirements.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lead, influence, and motivate teams to achieve safety objectives.
  • Proficiency with safety management software, reporting tools, and related systems.
  • Experience in Environmental programs, although the role requires a strong safety bias

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field preferred.
  • Certification in safety management, such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Travel to all ThermoSafe US plant locations, travel up to 50-70% of the time as needed.
  • Support Corporate Sustainability Manager in ensuring plant compliance with Environmental reporting requirements
  • Develop and implement comprehensive safety policies, procedures, programs, and initiatives.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify hazards, assess risk, and implement mitigation plans.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and environmental requirements with local, state, and federal safety regulations and applicable industry standards.
  • Lead safety training programs for employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Investigate workplace accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with management to develop safety goals, objectives, and performance improvement plans.
  • Maintain accurate records of safety-related incidents, inspections, training, corrective actions, and compliance activities.
  • Stay current with industry’s best practices, regulatory updates, and emerging environmental & safety trends.
  • Promote a strong culture of safety through communication, employee engagement, and visible leadership.
  • Prepare and present safety performance reports, metrics, and recommendations to senior management.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
