About The Position

This position is based at TTX's North Augusta Repair Shop in North Augusta, South Carolina. The role supports both Repair Shop Operations (RSO) and Field Maintenance Operations (FMO) across the TTX network. Candidates should expect to spend approximately two weeks each month supporting operations at the North Augusta Repair Shop and two weeks each month traveling to FMO locations. When working from the North Augusta Repair Shop, the position follows a hybrid schedule consisting of four days onsite and one remote workday per week. This position requires up to 50% travel.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Safety, Health, Environmental, Engineering or related field from an accredited college or university
  • 5+ years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years working with Microsoft Office suite of products, primarily Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to lead change at all levels of the organization, especially with front-line employees
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments simultaneously
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in Safety, Health, Environmental, Engineering, or related field from an accredited college or university
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Associate Safety Professional (ASP)
  • 5+ Years of experience managing safety in an industrial setting
  • 3+ Years of railroad-related experience
  • 3+ years of experience using lean tools (5S, Standard Work, Problem Solving RCCA) to drive safety improvements to processes
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables

Responsibilities

  • Supervision responsibility for EHS Supervisor
  • Develop and perform safety and technical training programs as required
  • Implement safety programs and policies developed to prevent incidents, injuries, or health impairment
  • Collaborate with employees, supervisors, and host railroad safety officers to raise employee awareness of safety risks and to identify and correct potential safety and health problems
  • Coordinate and facilitate Repair Shop Operations and Field Maintenance Operations safety committees and attend owner railroad safety committee meetings as required
  • Audit locations for compliance with network safety policies and government regulations
  • Communicate with host railroad safety officers and integrate host railroad safety programs and policies into company standards
  • Manage incident and near miss investigation process to implement corrective actions and reduce or prevent risk of recurrence
  • Monitor safety and health performance metrics and recommend actions for improvement
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and standards across the Repair Shop Operations and Field Maintenance Operations network
  • Provide safety leadership and guidance to field management, supervision, and specialists
  • Collaborate with multifunctional teams from all levels and departments within the organization to develop, standardize, and refine processes, training, and documents
