About The Position

Emerson has an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and forward-thinking Environmental Safety and Health professional. Based in our Sherman, TX, location, the ES&H Manager plays a critical role in ensuring the well-being of our employees, protecting the environment, and maintaining regulatory compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Safety and Health, Engineering, Chemistry or safety related science
  • Two years of experience in Environmental and Industrial Health and Safety areas including air, water and waste in manufacturing setting
  • Applied knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental health and safety regulations
  • Broad knowledge of hazards and chemical processes with special emphasis in manufacturing environment
  • Broad knowledge of federal OSHA and state safety regulations and programs.

  • Experience developing and conducting training programs

  • Familiarity with ergonomics issues relevant to manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of NFPA fire and electric codes.

Responsibilities

  • Cultivating a culture of safety and environmental responsibility by engaging with employees, promoting awareness, encouraging active participation in ES&H initiatives, and serving as advisor for Emergency Response Team and Safety Committee.
  • Developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive EHS programs and policies in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations and industry standard processes and liaising with those agencies.
  • Conducting regular risk assessments and identifying potential hazards within the workplace. Develop strategies to minimize or eliminate risks and promote a culture of safety.
  • Planning, coordinating, and conducting ES&H training programs for employees at all levels.
  • Leading efforts to reduce the organization's environmental footprint by developing and implementing sustainability programs, waste reduction strategies, and resource conservation measures.
  • Managing all aspects of site security including access control, CCTV, and manage site security personnel.
  • Acting as “Management Representative” for OSHA VPP Star Certification including conduction of annual review, periodic OSHA audits, and maintaining compliance with OSHA VPP guidelines.
