About The Position

Serves as the area leader in the planning, design, configuration, and support for health system applications. Manages teams responsible for the configuration, build, testing, implementation, system upgrades, model enhancements, maintenance, security practices, capacity planning, integration, hardware and peripherals, and support of the OSUWMC’s health system applications to ensure levels of stability, reliability, security, and acceptable performance. Manages vendor relationships, creates disaster recovery plans, coordinates risk assessments and adheres to internal and external regulations. This is an application leadership position with required skill sets to manage staff for health system strategic direction, and application design, development, implementation, and support. Coordinates major initiatives, including system upgrades, new implementations, expansion of use and breadth of application functionality. Manages projects involving high clinical/safety and/or business risk, scope, and impact to the organization; leads and facilitates strategic projects involved in evaluating and researching new and existing products, procedures and/or workflows needs associated with health system applications. Individual serves as a subject matter expert and manager for health system applications strategies, procedures, policies, and methodologies. Individual provides direction and insight to leaders, peers and team members regarding the identification and alignment of strategic health system application requirements with evolving application, information technology/business opportunities. Recognized across the organization for expertise and sought as a source for resolution of unique or the most complex systems problems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Allied Health, Computer Sciences or related field.
  • 5 years’ experience in Application Technology leadership, Management or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Fundamental knowledge of various application technologies and tools.
  • Traits to manage people and processes.
  • Strong skills in management and team building.
  • High energy level and ability to quickly discern customers’ business needs.
  • Deep understanding of hospital and/or clinical operations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with employees, peers, executive leadership, customers, vendors and others.
  • Strategic thinking and analytical skills.
