The Manager, Engineering will analyze business needs and software requirements to determine the feasibility of design within time and cost constraints. This role involves designing, developing, and modifying software systems and applications to meet business and technical requirements. The position will develop and support applications and APIs using Spring Boot, REST web services, Guidewire, Duck Creek, AWS, and cloud-based platforms. Responsibilities include conferring with systems analysts, engineers, programmers, product owners, and other stakeholders to define system capabilities, limitations, interfaces, and technical requirements. The role also involves modifying existing software to correct errors, improve performance, and adapt systems to new technologies and platforms, as well as analyzing technical information to recommend and plan new system implementations or modifications to existing systems. The Manager, Engineering will guide low-level architecture, detailed system design, and implementation of digital solutions while helping establish engineering processes, standards, and best practices. Additionally, this role will determine and evaluate system performance standards and support improvements for scalability, availability, and production readiness. The position includes supervising, mentoring, and assigning work to software engineers and other technical team members, and collaborating with Infrastructure, Security, and DevOps teams to support deployment and platform stability. Domestic travel is required up to 10%, and telecommuting is permitted up to 70%.
