About the position
The job overview for this position is that BrightInsight is seeking a Manager of Platform Engineering to lead a technical team in delivering infrastructure platforms and capabilities. The role involves supporting, evangelizing, and implementing industry operational best practices, as well as collaborating with front-end and back-end developers and the architecture team. The Manager of Platform Engineering will be responsible for driving initiatives from idea formulation to implementation, setting technical direction, and instilling a spirit of continuous improvement within the team. The ideal candidate should have 8-12+ years of technical experience and a strong background in infrastructure technologies.
Responsibilities
- Lead the team to drive initiatives from idea formulation to design and implementation
- Follow best practices in developing at scale on large, distributed teams
- Implement modular app architecture, frameworks, build pipeline, on-prem and cloud
- Implement CI/CD, testing, observability, etc.
- Provide vision, set technical direction, and lead the team to achieve it
- Use qualitative and quantitative metrics to set priorities and measure effectiveness
- Participate in essential technical, design, and product discussions with teams across the organization
- Manage cross-product technical dependencies and drive resolutions to conflicts
- Instill a spirit of continuous improvement in the team's patterns, practices, and processes
- Build and maintain a strong, healthy, and diverse team through hiring, mentoring, and coaching
- Have 8-12+ years of technical experience with demonstrated progression of responsibilities
- Experience implementing solutions with tools like Chef
