About The Position

This role requires strong people leadership experience in large, complex technology delivery environments. The ideal candidate will have a full-stack engineering background, including iOS Native Development, Swift, SwiftUI, Swift Concurrency, and APIs/microservices. The position involves delivering regulated, customer-facing digital insurance or banking platforms at scale, and experience designing, developing, and integrating AI-enabled capabilities into enterprise applications. Practical experience with DevOps, automated testing, and modern delivery practices, as well as working knowledge of AI-assisted development and test automation, is essential. The role also includes evaluating and recommending AI/ML tools, frameworks, and patterns aligned with enterprise standards and emerging industry trends. The Manager, Engineering (iOS) will provide people management leadership by hiring talent, setting goals, developing staff, managing performance and compensation, promoting teamwork, and handling disciplinary actions. This role requires in-depth technical skills and a strong understanding of the team's product, with the ability to coordinate work outside their area of expertise and ensure solutions align with departmental objectives. Generally reports to a Senior Manager, in some cases to an executive.

Requirements

  • Strong people leadership experience in large, complex technology delivery environments.
  • Full‑stack engineering background (iOS Native Development, Swift, SwiftUI, Swift Concurrency, APIs/microservices).
  • 7+ years hands-on iOS development experience
  • Experience delivering regulated, customer‑facing digital insurance or banking platforms at scale.
  • Experience designing, developing, and integrating AI-enabled capabilities into enterprise applications to enhance customer and engineering outcomes
  • Practical experience with DevOps, automated testing, and modern delivery practices.
  • Working knowledge of AI‑assisted development and test automation.
  • Expert knowledge of specific domain or range of engineering frameworks, technology, tools, processes and procedures, as well as organization issues
  • Expert knowledge of TD applications, systems, networks, innovation, design activities, best practices, business / organization, Bank standards, and may fulfill a governance role
  • In depth technical skills and a strong understanding of the team's product.
  • Can coordinate work outside own area of expertise
