About The Position

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Supportability Engineering Section Manager 2 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals supporting the Product Support Organization. This leadership role is located in Melbourne, FL. This position is fully onsite with no remote work available. Specific roles and responsibilities of the Supportability Engineering Manager include, but are not limited to, the following: Lead the Lifecycle Engineering Section which encompasses Reliability Maintainability & Testability, Modeling & Simulation, Supportable Low Observables, Logistics Support Analysis, Diminishing Manufacturing Source and Material Shortages Product Support Disciplines. Familiarity with military aircraft maintenance and sustainment CONOPS, facilities requirements and site standup, depot activation and transition planning, as well as experience in managing customer requirements and expectations. Broad understanding of the Integrated Product Support elements and how they support each phase of the DoD Major Capabilities Acquisition life-cycle. Earned Value Management. Defining and scheduling detailed work packages and managing task performance to cost and schedule. Responsible for both the functional and program management of a team, ensuring the proper people, processes, and tools are in place to meet program cost and schedule performance. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) field from an accredited university AND 9 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering, OR a Master’s degree AND 7 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering.
  • Understanding of the Logistics Support Analysis technical discipline and familiarity of its responsibilities.
  • Must be willing and able to travel to various site locations to participate and represent the Product Support IPT.
  • Your ability to transfer and maintain the final adjudicated U.S. government Secret clearance (must be in-scope or enrolled in Continuous Evaluation) and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the Company.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in a STEM field (Mechanical or Electrical).
  • Final adjudicated U.S. government Top Secret Clearance.
  • Recent experience with Cameo, Magic Draw, or another MBSE tool such as Rhapsody, Sparx EA, and Enterprise Architect.
  • Experience with military aircraft maintenance, operations, and sustainment.
  • Familiarity with USG acquisition and sustainment planning, including Organic and Contractor support, as well as Public-Private Partnership strategies.
  • Familiarity with GEIA-STD-0007 or similar Logistics Support Analysis/Logistics Product Data standards.
  • Familiarity with SD22 and SD26 or similar Diminishing Manufacturing Source and Material Shortages documents.
  • Familiarity with MIL-STD-1390 or SAE AS 1390A Level of Repair Analysis
  • The candidate should be well organized, pay a great deal of attention to detail, possess good written and verbal communication skills and be able to present design concepts to an audience.
  • Able to collaborate in a team environment.
  • Able to prioritize and adjust tasks to accomplish the project result.
