About The Position

EDF’s Energy Transition program aims to bend the curve on global greenhouse gas emissions from fossil fuel production and use by 2030, cleanly and equitably. As a part of this program, the Global Transport and Fuels team works to deploy science and economics-based policy recommendations and practical project solutions to ensure that transport is a keystone to a thriving sustainable economy, delivering the goods and mobility people need, without compromising clean air or climate stability. Our vision is to see high-integrity, low-emission alternative fuels and feedstocks effectively decarbonizing the hardest-to-abate sectors of the global economy, while ensuring maximum benefits for climate, ecosystems, and communities. This is an exciting time to join a group of skilled experts at EDF who cover heavy transport and fuels decarbonization work across shipping, aviation and trucking. We are seeking a Manager, Energy Transition, who will manage the execution of three large, complex, interdependent “alternative fuels for transport” projects, all which have a significant focus on biofuels, and a lean on maritime shipping. Reporting to the Senior Policy Director, Fuels & Feedstocks, and working closely with the Director, Shipping & Transport, the Manager will deliver the work planned under these three grants, working with colleagues from across EDF to deliver and oversee research and analyses, structure findings to feed into advocacy positions and reports, and execute other activities to meet our project objectives. To this end, they will provide subject matter expertise in clean fuels and applied economics; research and analyze policies and market trends; communicate and engage with key external stakeholders; and coordinate the efforts of colleagues across various Energy Transition, Science, and Economics teams both domestically and internationally.
