We are seeking a leader who will lead by example and experience, elevate their team through strong employee engagement, and grow Achēv’s employment services and deliver strong outcomes. Position Overview The Manager, Employment Services is responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership across Employment Services teams within the Greater Toronto Area region, while maintaining flexibility to support future service expansion and evolving program needs. This role ensures high-quality service delivery, consistent performance across sites, and alignment with organizational goals and funding requirements. The Manager will champion a strong in-office presence, actively supporting and engaging staff while fostering a collaborative, client-centered service environment. This role also includes oversight of select projects within the Employment Services portfolio, as well as future initiatives and other priority projects as required. In addition, the Manager will serve as a backup to fellow Managers, helping to ensure seamless operations across the broader Employment Services division.

Requirements

  • Post‑secondary education in a relevant field (e.g., Social Services, Business, Human Resources or related discipline).
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership or management experience, ideally within Employment Services or related sectors.
  • Demonstrated experience managing budgets and financial processes, with proven success in overseeing complex program expenditures.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience coaching diverse teams, resolving challenges, and supporting staff development.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, including report writing and stakeholder engagement.
  • Solid understanding of the GTA labour market, community networks, employment programming, and client‑focused service delivery.
  • Exceptional organizational, analytical, and problem‑solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong technical skills and ability to learn new systems; experience with EOIS CAMS considered an asset.
  • Commitment to working on‑site with teams consistently and modeling a positive workplace culture.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings or weekends, as required.
  • Access to reliable transportation for travel across the GTA.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day‑to‑day operational oversight for Employment Services teams across the GTA, ensuring services are delivered consistently, effectively, and in accordance with program standards.
  • Maintain a visible, regular presence at assigned sites to support staff, foster team cohesion, model leadership, and strengthen on‑site culture.
  • Ensure service delivery practices reflect excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Supervise and coach Coordinators and other supporting staff while establishing a positive, high‑performance work environment.
  • Support hiring, onboarding, training, and staff development activities that contribute to strong team performance.
  • Provide goal setting and performance management.
  • Act as a backup for other Managers, ensuring department‑wide stability, problem‑solving support, and cross‑coverage when required.
  • Lead the execution, monitoring, and refinement of program processes to meet performance commitments and operational benchmarks.
  • Guide teams in meeting outcome targets, adhering to funding guidelines, and implementing quality improvement strategies.
  • Contribute to the planning, rollout, and evaluation of new or evolving Employment Services initiatives, including special projects as assigned.
  • Demonstrate strong financial acumen by developing, managing, and monitoring program budgets.
  • Oversee expenditure tracking, variance investigations, cash flow monitoring, and corrective actions where needed.
  • Prepare accurate reports and documentation for internal and external stakeholders in alignment with compliance requirements.
  • Represent the organization in community collaborations, sector tables, and stakeholder meetings to support Employment Services visibility and partnership development.
  • Strengthen relationships with local employers, community agencies, and service partners across the GTA.
  • Participate actively as a member of the broader management team.
  • Support organizational initiatives, planning processes, and cross‑departmental collaborations.
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned to support operational stability and service excellence.
