About The Position

The Manager, Employer Engagement supports sector-based partnerships, career exposure, and work-based learning, with a focus on community college engagement. The role helps connect community colleges and employers to better prepare people for in-demand jobs and provides operational support to the broader TalentEd team. This position is grant funded and will only be maintained while funding is provided by an external source. The position is based in Detroit, Michigan, and requires travel within Southeast Michigan.

Requirements

Associate or bachelor's degree in higher education, public policy, economics, business, or a related field.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships.
Organizational skills, including the ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks with keen attention to detail.
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and adapt to competing demands.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Ability to travel within Southeast Michigan.

Responsibilities

Support partnerships that bring community colleges and employers together to prepare people for in-demand jobs.
Help plan and manage industry partnerships, small- and medium-sized business roundtables, the Michigan Apprentice Network, and other employer engagement activities.
Coordinate meetings, materials, communications, vendors, and follow-up.
Gather feedback from partners, share the impact of the work, and identify relevant best practices.
Provide day-to-day operational support to the broader TalentEd team, including grant and budget administration, email communications and follow-up, event planning and logistics, and other assigned needs.
