Requirements

  • Build trusted relationships with employers and other stakeholders.
  • Identify employer needs and turn conversations into real recruitment opportunities.
  • Match people effectively to vacancies and support successful recruitment.
  • Communicate confidently and influence a wide range of people.
  • Network within the local business community and develop new employer relationships.
  • Manage multiple employers, vacancies and participants while staying organised.
  • Work towards performance targets and contractual outcomes.
  • Understand local labour markets and the factors influencing recruitment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in recruitment, employer engagement, business development, sales, account management, employability, employment services or another employer-facing role.
  • Experience of welfare-to-work, employability, supported employment or working with people facing barriers to employment.
  • Experience of working with young people, apprenticeships or skills pathways.
  • Passionate about creating opportunities and making a tangible difference to people’s lives.

Responsibilities

  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with local employers across a range of sectors.
  • Generating quality vacancies, work placements, apprenticeships and other employment opportunities.
  • Getting to know employers and understand their recruitment needs, workplace culture and progression opportunities.
  • Developing a pipeline of vacancies and actively match participants to suitable opportunities.
  • Using creative approaches such as reverse marketing to open up opportunities that may not otherwise exist.
  • Supporting participants throughout the recruitment journey, from identifying suitable roles through to interviews, job starts and beyond.
  • Working with employers and participants to agree effective onboarding arrangements, workplace support and reasonable adjustments where required.
  • Carrying out strengths-based vocational profiling to understand each participant’s skills, aspirations, experience and barriers.
  • Providing practical support with job searching, applications, CVs and interview preparation.
  • Connecting participants with specialist services and community organisations where additional support is needed.
  • Providing in-work support to help people settle into their roles, overcome challenges and sustain employment.
