About The Position

Position is responsible for planning and executing policies relating to compensation, employment, and employee relations activities. Position serves as a source of advice and assistance on personnel matters and problems generally. Through planning and executing policies and serving as a source of advice, the incumbent serves as a link between management and employees.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Human Resources, Psychology, or related field.
  • 3+ years of human resources generalist experience
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, including knowledge of EEO, ADA and FMLA are a must.
  • Requires knowledge of applicable Equal Employment Opportunity laws and regulations, personnel policies and procedures.
  • Working knowledge of computers and Word/Excel required.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Paycom is a definite plus.
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communications and interpersonal skills.
  • SHRM Certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Partner with employees and management to communicate various Human Resources policies, procedures, laws, standards and government regulations
  • Interpret, advise and counsel line management in assigned areas on the application of company policies, procedures, processes, employee issues, and federal and state employment law.
  • Respond to employee relation issues such as employee complaints, harassment, allegations and other complaints
  • Assist in the evaluation of reports, decisions, results of department in relation to established goals
  • Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency.
  • Manages the Leaves and assists with Workers’ Comp cases.
  • Coordinate staff to establish and follow procedures to evaluate jobs, prepare formal job descriptions, conduct wage and salary surveys.
  • Recommend wage adjustments according to findings.
  • Approve merit increases for personnel within budgetary limits and pay policies.
  • Direct functions designed to maintain employee morale and productivity at a high level, (i.e., counseling, employees requesting advice relative to a company situation, conflict resolution, employee discipline).
  • Maintain staffing requirements.
  • Resolve conflicts resulting from movement in departmental management.
  • Review human resource literature to maintain current knowledge of laws, etc.
  • Consider matters from both an employee’s and employer’s point of view in act as an honest broker to ensure that management makes effective use of employees’ skills while improving employee working conditions.
  • Consult in departing from current policy interpretation.
  • Maintain presents on all shifts, spending approximately 50% of time on floor.
