Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Controls Engineering.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical or controls engineering.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize deadlines.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience managing a team of structural engineers is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Optimize solutions through analysis of varied alternatives.
  • Work with a variety of industries, clients, and technical issues.
  • Supervise and lead others, delegate work, and work on/lead multiple projects at one time.
  • Responsible for the successful delivery of the discipline deliverables, quality, and administrative portions of the project.
  • Responsible for the discipline portion of all scope documents.
  • Develop scope documents (in many cases).
  • Use correct documents (from the ITAC network) and assure that these documents meet their intended purpose.
  • Scope documents include: Scope of Work – defines project deliverables and schedules, Discipline Narrative/Project Execution Plan – defines the details of the discipline design, Specification – defines the details equipment or programming effort (when applicable to your discipline).
  • Communicate project objectives to the client, project manager, and design team through scope documents.
  • Ensure scope documents have enough detail for the discipline design team to proceed in the absence of the lead engineer.
  • Specify deliverables and schedule in scope documents.
  • Aid in the developing and maintaining the project schedule as defined in the scope documents.
  • Assure proper resources are assigned and the project is proceeding on schedule.
  • Track and maintain all of the discipline budgets as defined in the proposal and project estimate.
  • Responsible for the quality of all discipline deliverables.
  • Ensure quality control procedures for all deliverables are followed.
  • Aid in the development and execution of the Project Execution Plan, identifying and communicating areas of risk and delays in that execution plan.
