About The Position

The Manager – EHS position at Lyten is a cross-functional role where you will be expected to work on issues where analysis of situations or data requires a solid understanding of organizational objectives, apply established policies and procedures when selecting methods and techniques for obtaining results, and support adherence to budgets, schedules, work plans, and performance requirements. You will regularly interact with site leadership and cross-functional teams on matters concerning environmental health and safety, coordinating activities across departments to support execution of safety programs and operational goals. In the first year, you’ll be expected to execute and continuously improve an integrated safety program at Lyten, which includes managing a safety committee, supporting worker’s compensation processes, providing safety guidance to employees, ensuring code compliance with regulatory agencies, and managing chemical waste disposal. Additionally, you will support the implementation and tracking of an environmental emissions monitoring program across Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in a relevant technical field AND 5+ years of experience in Environmental Health & Safety or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field AND 7+ years of experience in Environmental Health & Safety supporting multidisciplinary projects
  • 5+ years management experience
  • Working knowledge of environmental, health, and safety regulatory requirements, programs, and methods
  • Familiarity with EHS management systems and compliance frameworks
  • Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local safety and environmental regulations (OSHA, EPA, DOT, etc.)
  • Experience supporting risk assessments, incident investigations, and EHS program implementation
  • Experience assisting with EHS audits and compliance activities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working in manufacturing or industrial environments, preferably involving hazardous or flammable materials

Responsibilities

  • Support the development, planning, and implementation of environmental health and safety policies and procedures in a high volume Li-S factory
  • Partner with facility management to conduct job hazard analyses and equipment/process risk assessments
  • Lead and execute the incident investigation program, including root cause analysis and corrective actions
  • Monitor contractors and construction activities to ensure safe work practices and compliance
  • Coordinate and support site emergency response activities and training
  • Organize and facilitate company safety committee meetings
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental health and safety regulations
  • Act as a point of contact with regulatory agencies during inspections and routine communications
  • Develop and deliver EHS training programs for employees and contractors
  • Promote employee awareness and engagement on matters of health, safety, and environment
  • Partner with equipment engineering on design reviews and risk assessments to ensure compliance
  • Ensure appropriate corrective actions are implemented where hazards are identified
  • Support management of EHS programs and processes, including coordination of internal stakeholders
  • Assist in establishing operational objectives and executing work plans aligned with site goals
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of EHS policies impacting site operations
  • Prepare and file required compliance documentation, including HMBP and CERS
  • Identify improvement opportunities and implement practical solutions to enhance EHS performance
  • Build strong working relationships and collaborate effectively across functions
