About The Position

This role is responsible for monitoring EHS performance, identifying risks and areas for improvement, and conducting EHS audits and inspections to identify workplace hazards. The Manager EHS will manage the investigation of EHS incidents, prepare reports and recommendations, implement waste management programs, develop and deliver EHS training, and manage relationships with EHS stakeholders. The position involves researching, evaluating, and recommending changes to improve EHS performance, and providing expertise and advice on EHS issues to area and plant managers. The goal is to eliminate the risk of occupational injury and illness, and environmental non-compliance in a manufacturing environment. This role also involves leading, directing, evaluating, and developing a team of EHS professionals, and implementing EHS systems according to ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and OHSAS standards. The Manager EHS will maintain relationships with the community and other stakeholders impacted by the organization's EHS performance, coordinate compliance audits and inspections, and ensure new equipment meets legal and YF requirements. Additionally, the role includes managing the plant’s occupational health provider and setting the standard for and cultivating the EHS culture in the plant. The position requires understanding and meeting all function-related Quality, Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS), Product Safety, Compliance, and Information Security requirements, as well as complying with all company policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Level Degree in EHS or related field.
  • 3-5 Minimum Years of Experience in EHS.
  • 3-5 Minimum Years of Experience within the automotive industry.
  • Must be able and willing to travel and work at customer sites, including industrial manufacturing plants which might require climbing, lifting, or working in confined spaces.
  • Experience of a minimum of two years in managing regulatory compliance in OSHA, worker’s compensation, manufacturing health and safety training, environmental and ergonomics.
  • Knowledge of ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, ISO 45001 requirements including internal and external customers such as OE and NGO requirements; training and record keeping requirements, ISO documentation requirements and formats.
