Under the direction of the Cardiovascular Services Director and Perfusionist, this role is responsible for developing and coordinating the strategic, clinical, and operational plans and processes for the Mechanical Circulatory Support (MCS) program and its specialists. The Manager supervises specialists providing ECMO/MCS services and provides direct patient care to patients receiving mechanical circulatory support. This position maintains the Extracorporeal Life Support Organization (ELSO) registry as well as the Corewell Health specific registry of all patients to whom mechanical circulatory support was provided. The role evaluates educational needs to develop and provide MCS education programs for patients, significant others, staff, and community healthcare professionals. The Manager is responsible for maintaining all MCS equipment and coordinating the evaluation process to measure program outcomes. This role also coordinates the MCS program to ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations, organizational policy, and accreditation requirements.
