About The Position

Responsible for overall clinical research study planning, coordinating, and execution of all study-related activities, including extensive interaction with the Internal Review Board (IRB), study sponsors, and investigators. This role is responsible for the management of the Division of Clinical Research and the day-to-day functions of the division. The Manager will be responsible for recruiting, hiring, managing, and reviewing clinical research staff, including salary sourcing decisions with the participation of investigators. They will make recommendations and participate in the development of and implement decisions and policies and procedures for the clinical research division. This role will oversee federal and sponsor funding, monitor financial performance of the clinical research division against the operating budget, and monitor compliance with the IRB, federal mandates, and grant compliance, identifying areas needing improvement and suggesting solutions. The Manager will also assist with compliance monitoring and audits, aid in the strategic planning of the Division of Clinical Research, and be responsible for research education and training of clinical research staff, including the development of research manuals and training programs to maintain research compliance. Additionally, the Manager will act as a liaison in matters relating to clinical research activities between the department, the School of Medicine, and external agencies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or combination of education and/or experience may substitute for minimum education.
  • Basic Life Support certification must be obtained within one month of hire date.
  • Basic Life Support certification (Online BLS certifications, those without a skills assessment component, are not sufficient to meet the BLS requirements).
  • Clinical (5 Years) experience.
  • Clinical Research experience.
  • A driver's license is not required for this position.
