People | Excellence | Change | Integrity | Co-Prosperity Role and Responsibilities To serve as the primary architect of the enterprise behavioral tracking strategy, ensuring precise, consistent, and high-integrity data capture across the US Ecommerce ecosystem. Additionally, support the personalization team by integrating data governance into personalized experience delivery, ensuring alignment with business goals and analytical needs. Role & Responsibilities This role is the bridge between business inquiry and technical execution. You will define the “What” and the “How” of data collection—establishing rigorous tracking requirements and governance standards while partnering with Platform Engineering to ensure flawless implementation. Your goal is to eliminate data ambiguity by ensuring the platform’s output perfectly matches the enterprise’s analytical needs. As a supporting member of the personalization team, you will also ensure that personalization initiatives are data-driven, measurable, and aligned with broader business objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience required.
  • Experience in eCommerce personalization or digital optimization.
  • Certifications in personalization or analytics tools (e.g., Adobe Analytics, Tealium, Monetate, or Adobe Target).
  • Familiarity with experimentation methodologies (A/B testing, multivariate testing).
  • Experience working with APIs or server-side personalization approaches.
  • Demonstrated experience governing tracking across both web and native mobile/app environments, including SDK integration and mobile event taxonomy alignment.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical Governance Expertise: Mastery of tag management systems (e.g., Google Tag Manager, Adobe Launch, or Tealium) and a deep understanding of how behavioral data flows into cloud environments like GCP. Hands-on proficiency with Adobe Analytics or Customer Journey Analytics is required, given the centrality of these platforms to the downstream analytics ecosystem.
  • Strategic Translation: Ability to take broad business goals and break them down into specific, granular events and attributes required for measurement.
  • Analytical Rigor: Proficiency in validating data via browser developer tools, API monitoring, and SQL to ensure implementation matches governance standards.
  • Cross-Functional Influence: Proven track record of partnering with Product Managers, Software Engineers, LOB stakeholders, and Marketing teams to integrate data requirements into technical sprint cycles without compromising site velocity.
  • Clarity of Mindset: A “Truth Seeker” mentality with an obsession for data accuracy and the discipline to maintain standards in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Product Management Experience: 3+ years of product management experience, preferably with a focus on personalization or eCommerce.
  • Technical Foundation: Strong technical foundation with the ability to collaborate closely with developers; familiarity with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript is a plus.
  • Business Acumen: Excellent business acumen with a track record of translating customer and business needs into impactful product features.
  • Agile Methodologies: Strong skills in backlog management, agile methodologies, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Data Tracking & Tagging Governance
  • Establishment of Requirements: Partner with Data Analysts leads to translate complex business questions into precise tagging specifications for the web and app platforms.
  • Taxonomy & Logic Stewardship: Ensure all tracking follows the Universal Characteristic Taxonomy, maintaining a consistent “Dictionary of Truth” across the digital experience.
  • Strategic Blueprinting: Author the technical tracking blueprints (SDRs/Tagging Plans) that guide the Platform Engineering team.
  • Deployment Validation: Act as the final authority on data quality by auditing and validating all technical deployments. Own the “Check-and-Balance” process to ensure site data is high-fidelity before it reaches the semantic layer.
  • Privacy Adherence: Collaborate with Platform Architecture to ensure all behavioral tracking configurations respect enterprise privacy standards, consent protocols, and data residency rules.
  • Lifecycle Management: Maintain the health and relevance of the existing tag library, proactively identifying and deprecating legacy tracking to optimize site performance and data clarity.
  • Mobile & App Tracking Governance: Extend governance standards to native app and mobile web environments, including SDK-based event instrumentation and mobile-specific event taxonomy aligned with web tracking conventions.
  • Personalization Program Management
  • Measurement Framework: Establish and maintain a personalization measurement framework to track effectiveness and ROI.
  • Backlog Management: Own the personalization backlog, ensuring prioritization, grooming, and execution align with company goals.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with engineering, analytics, design, and marketing teams—including business and marketing partners—to deliver and scale personalized experiences across digital channels.
  • Technical Translation: Translate business requirements into technical specifications and user stories for engineering teams.
  • Operational Oversight: Oversee day-to-day personalization operations, including campaign setup, testing, QA, and validation. Maintain deep fluency in the core personalization platform (e.g., Monetate, Adobe Target, or equivalent) used on Samsung.com
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor, measure, and report on the effectiveness of personalization initiatives; recommend optimizations based on data-driven insights.
  • Analytics Collaboration: Work with analytics teams to define KPIs, track performance, and ensure accurate reporting across personalization tools and platforms.
