About The Position

This position is responsible for leading Design & Execution of Projects for Tim Hortons US in all restaurant formats including both architecture and interior design. Working both internally and with consultants to develop creative, site-specific plans and solutions adapted from internal design guidelines across a variety of projects in a variety of markets. Must be able to communicate design to restaurant owner groups and internal clients using a variety of written, visual, technological, and verbal skills. Design capabilities including planning & coordinating, selecting commercial-grade material specifications, fixtures, lighting, millwork, and furniture. Work with the North American and International Architecture & Design Leads, Operations, Procurement, Real Estate and Development Teams to develop working prototypes and specifications.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in Interior Design or Architecture
  • 5+ years’ experience in architecture or interior design, design development, space planning, rendering, drafting and presentations
  • Proficient in AutoCAD - v.2018and/or subsequent newer releases
  • SketchUp or other 3D modeling/rendering software, Adobe CC (Photoshop, Illustrator & InDesign) and MS Office (word, excel, PowerPoint)
  • Design experience in the development of design for retail and/or restaurant industry
  • Working with and managing design consultants and clients

Responsibilities

  • Work with Architectural Consultants on adapting and applying the design standards to specific projects that modernizes the brand and improves the guest experience.
  • Draw and sketching skills including space planning, exterior concept elevations, interior concept elevations/renderings.
  • Presents and works directly with Restaurant Owner Clients to review and edit schematic designs as well as guide them through the design development process.
  • Develops and presents conceptual and schematic design ideas that push the brand image forward while working with consultants to formulate solutions for a variety of business needs.
  • Able to generate visualizations of proposed ideas/concepts
  • Participates in meetings with consultants and executives to understand and respond to a wide range of projects and project types.
  • Reviews and approves prototypical shop drawings and/or physical samples from vendors i.e.. millwork, furniture, materials (application), artwork and graphics
