About The Position

Royal Caribbean Group’s Global Marine Operations (GMO) Team has an exciting career opportunity for a full-time Manager, Decarbonization reporting to the Senior Director, Decarbonization Strategy. This position will work onsite in Miami, Florida. The Manager, Decarbonization is an execution-focused project leader responsible for planning and delivering well-defined scopes within a decarbonization workstream (e.g., energy efficiency, technology, operational measures, digital optimization, compliance enablement). The role upholds disciplined governance, schedule / value tracking, and decision support, acting as a day‑to‑day coordinator across Marine Operations, Newbuilding, Supply Chain, Finance, and other partners to ensure outcomes are delivered with rigor and pace. The Manager turns strategy into action through clear charters, credible plans, and high‑quality analysis and materials.

Requirements

6–8 years relevant experience with proven ownership of cross‑functional projects, strong PM discipline, and delivery of measurable outcomes; exposure to decarbonization or climate/energy topics preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business, Environmental Science, Sustainability, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
Emerging people leadership or mentorship experience.
Travel flexibility as required.
Advanced problem solving and analytics; strong PowerPoint / Excel; ability to synthesize complexity into crisp options; stakeholder management and influence without authority; workshop design/facilitation; comfort with uncertainty and pace.
Comfortable with Ambiguity: Ability to thrive in an environment for innovative solutions building.

Responsibilities

Own end‑to‑end delivery of a defined scope within a decarbonization workstream, translating workstream objectives into executable plans, milestones, and KPIs.
Clarify success criteria, ensure plans are grounded in operational reality, and maintain alignment with adjacent initiatives and dependencies.
Ability to identify gaps, develop new ideas, take it to pilots, and be able to articulate innovation proof points.
Build and maintain scope charters (scope, milestones, dependencies, risks, decisions, success metrics) and run a weekly/bi-weekly delivery cadence, escalating blockers promptly.
Maintain disciplined schedule, scope, and value tracking; produce crisp status updates that feed portfolio/enterprise governance.
Perform quantitative and qualitative analysis (e.g., emissions trajectories, abatement economics, compliance exposure, ROI / CapEx / OpEx) to size opportunities and inform tradeoffs.
Synthesize complex technical, regulatory, and operational inputs into decision-ready options and materials for Senior Director reviews.
Prepare clear, well‑structured presentations, reports, memos, and workshop materials that support alignment, inform trade‑offs, and enable decision‑making by the Senior Director.
Conduct baseline analytical modelling (with guidance) of emissions performance, efficiency opportunities, abatement costs, and compliance exposure for assigned scopes; support refinement of inputs for portfolio‑level models.
Quantify scope-level financial implications of initiatives, including basic OpEx / CapEx considerations, value sizing, and scenario comparisons; support Sr Director in building business case components.
Contribute to evaluation of low‑carbon fuel options and emerging technologies by gathering data, conducting preliminary financial or market benchmarking, and preparing summaries for senior review.
Monitor regulatory and carbon‑pricing developments relevant to assigned areas; flag potential cost impacts or operational implications and recommend adjustments to scope or timelines.
Partner day-to-day cross-functional work (Marine Ops, Newbuild, Supply Chain, Finance, Digital/Data) to align scope, milestones, and delivery trade-offs. Have the capabilities to resolve issues and drive alignment.
Design and facilitate working sessions to accelerate problem solving, unblock issues, and land decisions.
Develops tradeoff resolution plans to support integrated workstreams and prepared recommendations for the leadership level.
Monitors and flags regulatory developments (IMO, EU ETS, FuelEU Maritime, UK ETS) relevant to assigned scope, assess cost/operational impacts, and recommend plan adjustments and risk mitigations.
Provide recommendation options based on the development on program execution, pilot development, and develop an execution plan.
Define data and tooling requirements; use dashboards, models, and scenario analysis to monitor performance and support decisions; contribute to improving data quality and reporting reliability.
Creates data scenario options to support programs and guide decision making.
Capture lessons learned and codify into reusable playbooks, templates, and KPI definitions to improve delivery consistency and speed.
Coaches analysts and coordinate vendor/partner resources; lead effectively with and without authority to drive outcomes.
May lead 0-1 direct reports.
