About The Position

The Embodied Carbon Manager will be part of Entuitive’s Sustainability + Performance team working on zero carbon design, construction, and certification of buildings across multiple sectors with a focus on embodied carbon and whole building life cycle assessments (wbLCAs).

Requirements

  • A degree in engineering, architecture, environmental sciences, construction, or planning with minimum 5-10 years of progressive experience in sustainable building design and management, with a focus on demonstrating technical excellence in delivering embodied carbon and LCA services and strategies
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of drawings and specifications, and familiarity with Revit is required
  • Experience and proficiency using LCA software (OneClickLCA, Tally, Athena Impact Estimator, etc.) is required, demonstrating compliance with any of the following: LEED credit for Building Life-Cycle Impact Reduction, Zero Carbon Building Standard v4, Envision credit for Reduce Net Embodied Carbon
  • Thorough knowledge of relevant codes and standards such as VBBL, TGS, Zero Carbon, and LEED
  • Strong and proven experience with business development activities and client relationship building
  • Proven experience managing and leading a team to deliver sustainable outcomes while surpassing client needs and expectations
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written with the ability to manage complex situations with multiple stakeholders
  • Drive to build a business within a business
  • Self-driven individual who shows initiative and respect in dealing with others
  • A positive attitude, confidence, and a good sense of humour
  • Experience and proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite, Revu Bluebeam, Revit

Nice To Haves

  • P.Eng., ENV SP, CPHD/C, LEED AP, or equivalent qualifications/experience is an asset
  • Experience in providing whole building LCA training, or involvement in zero carbon/embodied carbon-focused communities is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage relationships with new and existing clients
  • Seek new project opportunities, lead proposal preparation, and grow our zero carbon and embodied carbon LCA presence across all offices
  • Lead embodied carbon and LCA projects, delivering on low carbon strategies to meet client need
  • Perform LCAs with technical excellence and to the company standards, and train and mentor junior staff in performing LCAs
  • Coordinate with our Proposals and Business Development teams to manage Sustainable Performance Consulting procurement
  • Communicate with clients and coordinate with team and other disciplines to deliver on client needs as they relate to Sustainability, with a specialized focus on embodied carbon and LCAs
  • Develop and manage project scope, budget, schedule, and resources effectively
  • Be a leader, motivator, and mentor to team members, displaying positive problem-solving attitude and commitment to sustainable outcomes
  • Guide design and constructions teams through the sustainable building process
  • Liaise with the sustainable building Certification body to coordinate deliverables and address queries
  • Broad influence in everything we do as Entuitive, weaving sustainability into the fabric of the organization, and cross functionally across our various projects, to deliver on our promise of Uncompromising Performance
  • Be the knowledge expert in Sustainable Performance via continuous learning and education of trends in sustainability in the AEC industry and systems required to achieve circular, low-carbon, and community focused projects, and lead LCA training internally and externally as required
  • Prepare presentations, and present to clients and industry as required
