Manager, Data Engineering and Integration

Marathon Health
•$140,000 - $175,000

About The Position

The Manager of Data Engineering & Integration leads the Data Integration team responsible for accurately, securely, and promptly loading client and vendor data—including eligibility, claims, pharmacy, and lab feeds—into Marathon Health’s data ecosystem. This hands-on, client-focused leadership role manages data integration analysts who build and operate data loads using primarily Boomi, SQL, and Python-based automation. The manager serves as a key contact for clients, Client Success Managers, and regional Vice Presidents and Directors on data-feed onboarding, health, quality, and status. The role focuses on data loading, feed monitoring, and transparency into client data rather than business intelligence or dashboard reporting. The manager oversees feed onboarding, integration design and operation, production monitoring, data quality issue resolution, exports, recurring automation, and accurate loading into SQL Server EDW and Snowflake. The role establishes integration standards, supports downstream reporting and analytics needs, tracks team workload and service levels within a scrum/agile model, maintains technical documentation, and uses automation or AI-assisted tools where appropriate to improve efficiency and monitoring.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field and 7+ years of experience in data integration, data engineering, ETL/ELT, or data warehousing, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in a management or team lead role, ideally leading data integration or data analyst teams.

  • Client-focused mindset with a commitment to responsiveness, transparency, and service.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills for diagnosing and resolving data and feed issues.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and completeness.
  • Ability to manage time, prioritize competing demands, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Leadership skills to mentor, develop, and motivate a team of analysts.
  • Adaptability in response to changing client requirements and priorities.
  • Strategic thinking about data integration processes, scalability, and continuous improvement.
  • Willingness to stay current with new integration technologies, tools, and best practices.

  • Monitor production data-feed health and resolve failures, delays, and data quality issues.
  • Provide visibility into client data loads, including record counts, load status, and exceptions from source file through final load.
  • Partner with Client Success Managers, regional Vice Presidents, and Directors to communicate feed status, resolve data issues, and support client needs.
  • Meet with clients and external data partners to discuss data structure, quality, and completeness.
