We are looking for a hands-on people manager to lead the combined Data Governance and Data Modeling function within the Data & AI team. This role is responsible for driving day-to-day execution, ensuring data is well-governed, well-structured, and usable, while building a strong team and partnering closely with business and technology stakeholders. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Data & AI Strategy & Governance, this role will play a key part in operationalizing trusted, high-quality, and AI-ready data across priority domains.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Equivalent practical experience in data governance, data modeling, or data management may be considered in lieu of formal education.
  • 5 to 8+ years of experience in Data Governance, Data Management, or Data Modeling.
  • Prior experience in a people manager or team lead role, with accountability for delivery and team outcomes.
  • Proven experience operationalizing governance practices (e.g., data ownership, stewardship, standards).
  • Hands-on experience with data modeling (conceptual, logical, physical) in modern data environments.
  • Experience working in cross-functional settings (business, data engineering, analytics).
  • Demonstrate punctuality and dependability to support overall team success in a fast-paced environment.
  • Candidates must be eligible to work in the country of interest at the time any offer of employment is made and are responsible for obtaining any required work permits, visas, or other authorizations necessary for employment.
  • Prior to their start date, candidates will also need to provide proof of their eligibility to work in the country of interest.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the implementation and adoption of data governance frameworks, standards, and processes across domains.
  • Ensure clear ownership and stewardship is established and operationalized with business stakeholders.
  • Provide direction and oversight to ensure governance requirements (retention, privacy, compliance) are consistently applied.
  • Remove blockers and escalate risks to ensure governance initiatives progress effectively.
  • Ensure visibility and reporting on data quality, lineage, and key risks.
  • Drive continuous improvement in data reliability and usability.
  • Set direction and priorities for data modeling activities aligned to business, analytics, and AI needs.
  • Ensure consistency and quality of conceptual, logical, and physical data models delivered by the team.
  • Establish and enforce modeling standards and best practices across domains.
  • Partner with data engineering and architecture to ensure models are effectively implemented and scalable.
  • Coach and develop team members, building both governance and modeling capabilities.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for Data Governance and Data Modeling within the organization.
