Anthropic•Washington, DC
•$450,000 - $550,000•Hybrid

About The Position

Anthropic is hiring a manager to build and lead a team of cybersecurity sales specialists serving security teams across its Americas business units, including financial services, healthcare and life sciences, and technology. The team partners with Account Executives in each industry to lead security strategy and security deals with CISOs. The manager will shape how Anthropic sells security, including the team’s coverage model and collaboration with Account Executives and Applied AI. The role also brings customer insights to product, safeguards, marketing, and sales leadership to inform the roadmap. The work supports Anthropic’s mission by helping defenders of critical systems use AI safely and effectively. The position requires a bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. The required field of study must be relevant to the role, as demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience. The stated annual OTE range, including target commissions or bonuses and base salary, is $450,000–$550,000 USD. The role follows a location-based hybrid policy: staff are currently expected to work from an office at least 25% of the time, though some roles may require more. Anthropic sponsors visas and will make reasonable efforts to obtain one for an offered candidate.

Requirements

  • Experience building and leading a cybersecurity sales team with a revenue target, including hiring, coaching, and performance management.
  • Track record of closing complex, multi-stakeholder enterprise deals where the security organization was the buyer or deciding approver, and coaching others to do the same.
  • Fluency in how security teams work, developed through selling directly to CISOs, application security leads, and security engineers.
  • Depth in at least one security domain, such as application security, vulnerability management, security operations, cloud, data, identity, or endpoint security.
  • History of building a business without an established approach, using outbound sales and partners rather than relying on inherited accounts.
  • Ability to lead through influence as well as authority and to earn Account Executives’ and their leaders’ engagement.
  • Consultative approach to selling and coaching: understand the problem before proposing a solution and be candid about product limitations.
  • Commitment to making AI systems safe and beneficial.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Relevant field of study, demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience managing managers and individual contributors, or scaling a sales team through rapid growth.
  • Experience leading teams selling AI, developer, or data platform products to technical buyers.
  • Experience as a security practitioner or sales engineer before moving into sales leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Hire, onboard, and develop a high-performing team of cybersecurity sales specialists.
  • Own the team’s forecast, pipeline health, and results across the covered business units.
  • Set the team’s coverage model and establish rules of engagement with industry sales leaders and Applied AI leadership for discovery, proofs of concept, and architecture.
  • Build a pipeline engine with Account Executives through existing accounts, outbound outreach to security leaders, events, and partners.
  • Coach the team on complex, customer-problem-led deals involving vulnerability discovery and remediation, application security, security operations, and secure deployment of AI agents; act as executive sponsor with CISOs on key deals.
  • Make security reviews, verification for security use cases, and procurement repeatable.
  • Scale enablement so Account Executives across business units can identify and qualify security opportunities.
  • Share security-customer insights with sales leadership and product, safeguards, and marketing teams, and turn those insights into roadmap input.
  • Maintain a healthy team through clear expectations, regular feedback, and performance and development conversations.
