As the Manager of CRJ Fleet Training, you have the chance to define our growing business by ensuring our incoming pilots receive the highest standard of training. In this position, you will oversee CRJ training which has over 150 CRJ instructors, working in four different locations, training 5000+ pilots annually. You will also have the opportunity to collaborate with SkyWest Flight Operations leadership around the country. The Manager of CRJ Fleet Training will manage all aspects of CRJ Training, including the following: Train safe and efficient pilots Report to the Director Training Interface with the Director Training, Supervisor AQP, ERJ Fleet Training, CQ, CRM, Technical, Training Administration, Training Coordination Assure compliance with company policy, pilot AQP, and FAR’s Oversee Qualification and Continuing Qualification of CRJ instructors and pilots Schedule and oversee CRJ instructor meetings Directly responsible for CRJ instructors and new hire pilots Collaborate with chief pilot group to assure pilot performance meets required expectations Develop and maintain Qualification and Continuing Qualification training programs including syllabi, courseware, and other guidance Active participant in company Safety Risk Management Participating member of Flight Operations Data Analysis Group Regularly attend industry meetings and conferences Proactively work on Training and Flight Operations projects Other responsibilities as assigned by the Director Training

Requirements

  • Currently model SkyWest’s guiding principles
  • CRJ Type Rating or willing to obtain CRJ Type Rating
  • Minimum two years and 500 hours CRJ or CRJ flight experience under FAR 121
  • Willing to work full time in SLC or DEN
  • Experience training pilots within a structured training program (121, 135, 141)
  • Recommendation by chief/manager
  • History of high level of reliability, dependability, and accountability
  • Highly organized
  • Proficient in the use of Outlook email and calendar
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability to have high stakes, crucial conversations with the FAA, managers, instructors, and pilots in a respectful and productive manner

Responsibilities
