About The Position

Under the limited supervision of the Vice President, Government and Stakeholder Strategy, the Manager, Corporate and Government Relations will develop and manage programs, processes and relationships that enhance ACAA’s strategic initiatives while servicing vital constituencies including elected and community leaders, foundations, civic/corporate organizations and strategic stakeholders. This role manages the legislative and advocacy strategy in support of enterprise-wide priorities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Public Management or Political Science from an accredited college or university.
  • 5 years related experience in government affairs and/or public policy.
  • Possess, or obtain prior to employment, a valid driver’s license. Note: License must be maintained throughout employment.
  • Strong understanding of the principles, practices and techniques in building effective programs and processes for government affairs, stakeholder and community relations and marketing.
  • Knowledge of the business community, tourism & travel sector and related regional civic organizations.
  • Ability to learn new ideas, work with diverse groups and flexibility to adapt to changing conditions.
  • Demonstrated ability in cultivating relationships with stakeholders.
  • Analytical skills including knowledge of Excel, databases and other software to support decision making.
  • Proven written, verbal communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage programs that build positive relationships with key local, state and national elected leaders, with a primary focus on federal government relations.
  • Identify and implement tactics to execute legislative agendas.
  • Assist with project management and campaigns with lobbyist and governmental staff.
  • Develop matrix through targeted marketing tactics, programs and internal processes to track and measure stakeholder relations, communication and initiatives.
  • Communicate with governmental officials at federal, state and local levels and other key external organizations that impact the airport/airport system.
  • Establish and sustain long-term, mutually beneficial partnerships, strengthen existing relationships and initiate new contacts with external marketing, communications, sales, government affairs, and foundation teams.
  • Implement community relations plans that build effective communication and help ensure support and cooperation from critical stakeholders and community groups.
  • Manage advocacy planning and implementation efforts for assigned strategic priorities and legislative initiatives.
  • Support Communications & Brand and Air Service Development in the implementation of integrated plans and campaigns that align marketing, advertising and special events with government, corporate and community affairs activities.
  • Coordinate and manage government and legislative projects.
  • Develop and manage special projects pertaining to government and corporate affairs, and Communications & Brand.
  • Develop strategic recommendations for leadership regarding emerging legislative opportunities, risks, and stakeholder engagement opportunities.
  • Provide analysis on trends and issues, and prepare position analysis, to assist in decision making and official responses.
  • Work cross functionally with internal and external stakeholders to support efforts around funding applications or airline support.
  • Performs other related tasks as assigned or required.
