Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in pharmaceutical/biotech contract management or clinical budget management.
  • Experience with vendor negotiations and CRO interactions.
  • Proficiency in CLM systems (e.g., SAP, Ariba).
  • Strong analytical and cross-functional communication skills.
  • Demonstrated understanding of contract lifecycle management processes, including drafting, review, approval workflows, and execution.
  • Working knowledge of pharmaceutical/biotech regulatory requirements impacting R&D contracts (e.g., GxP, Sunshine Act, data privacy considerations).
  • Experience collaborating cross-functionally with Legal, Finance, Strategic Sourcing, and R&D stakeholders.
  • Ability to identify contractual risk and escalate appropriately.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple contracts and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) with
  • Experience supporting audits or compliance reviews related to contracting activities.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret and apply company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Draft and negotiate work order agreements, change order amendments, loan equipment agreements, non-disclosure agreements, and requests for proposals.
  • Review, revise, and manage contracts supporting routine activities, including consulting, supplier, distributor, clinical, service, and other non-standard agreements.
  • Escalate complex legal and factual matters to Legal and support issue resolution.
  • Oversee contract lifecycle management, including maintaining contract files, managing the contract request system, tracking deliverables, and generating reports.
  • Partner with the business teams to prepare and execute CDA and NDA agreements.
  • Lead onboarding and training for new Contract Managers.
  • Train internal stakeholders on contract management systems and processes.
  • Facilitate weekly and monthly contract status meetings as appropriate.
  • Prepare contract summaries and ensure agreements are executed in compliance with company policies and service level standard turnaround times.
  • Support the business contract requests and monitor execution timelines.
  • Secure all required internal approvals for contract terms and provisions prior to execution.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
