About The Position

Designs, implements, communicates and administers the compensation programs. Ensures the compensation program enhances the Nation's ability to recruit and retain employees. Develops and implements salary structure and administrative guidelines in accordance with compensation policy. Administers performance review program to ensure effectiveness, compliance and equity within Cherokee Nation. Conducts wage surveys within labor market to determine competitive wage rate.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in Human Resources or Business Administration with emphasis in Human Resources, Industrial Management with emphasis in Human Resources, or Business related field; or six years experience in field of compensation management.
  • An additional four years of experience in a Human Resources managerial position.
  • Knowledge of Human Resource systems; Internet software; Payroll systems; Project Management software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Employee must not and will not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or by the General Services Administration (GSA) or listed on the OIG’s Cumulative Sanction Report, or the GSA’s List of Excluded Providers, or listed on the OIG’s List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).

Nice To Haves

  • Prefer experience in Compensation.
  • World at Work Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) or Senior Professional in Human Resources (SHRM-SP) preferred.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of compensation, planning, design, implementation, and administration preferred.
  • Knowledge of compensation laws and regulations preferred.
