About The Position

The Manager of Community Pathways is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing youth programs within Wheeling Park Commission. This position will support individuals in exploring, preparing for, and advancing along career pathways. This individual works closely with directors, managers, educational institutions, workforce partners, and community organizations to align training and career opportunities. The individual also works closely with Wheeling Park Commission funding partners. This role is to ensure participants gain the skills and experience necessary for sustainable employment and career growth at Wheeling Park Commission.

Requirements

  • Fourth year college or university program certificate; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and oversee career pathway programs aligned with Wheeling Park Commission’s workforce needs.
  • Create, build and oversee a mentorship program within various departments in Wheeling Park Commission.
  • Build and maintain partnerships with directors, managers, educational institutions, and community organizations.
  • Develop relationships with key hosts that have been identified for various pathway programs. Meet regularly, mentor and adjust pathways as needed.
  • Identify skill gaps and coordinate training, certification, and upskilling opportunities.
  • Monitor participant progress and outcomes, ensuring successful transitions into employment or advanced training where needed.
  • Manage program budgets, timelines, and reporting requirements.
  • Analyze internal data to inform and educate program development and improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with funding requirements, policies, and regulations.
  • Attend workshops, career fairs, and employer engagement events with HR Recruitment Manager.
  • Track and report performance metrics and program impact.
  • Complete appropriate trainings listed on the human resources Training Matrix.
  • Adhere to Wheeling Park Commission’s safety rules and policy; refer any and all safety concerns to department manager, safety committee or human resources.
  • Interact with the public with a cheerful and positive attitude, solve guest problems and complaints in a proper manner, and maintain harmonious working relationships with fellow employees.
