About The Position

The Manager, Community Health, is responsible for the overall operations, strategic development, and implementation of Philabundance’s healthcare partnership and Home Delivery initiatives. The role leads cross department collaboration, data-driven program growth and improvement, partnership cultivation, community engagement, and team development to advance health equity and Food-as-Medicine work across the region. This position ensures effective communication, compliance, timely reporting, collaboration and alignment with both internal and external partners. The Manager supports organizational strategic planning and strengthens Philabunance’s investment in health equity, nutrition access and community well-being.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a business-to-business relationship development role within customer service, sales or influencer leadership role with direct ownership and influence of the goal outcome.
  • Minimum of 2-year direct management experience complete with hiring, performance management, training and development responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated experience engaging with diverse audiences, supported by strong written communication and confident public speaking skills.
  • Basics of management including attendance, performance, rewards, discipline, and training required.
  • Previous experience developing and implementing highly effective and cohesive teams in a leadership role.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills to guide a team and provide leadership team with necessary information, reporting, metrics, trends, on an ongoing basis.
  • Must be tenacious in approach to achieving goals, and influence others positively.
  • Successful experience with problem solving and possesses ability to stay nimble in an evolving environment.
  • Ability to establish, implement and maintain metrics aligned with activity and insight to identify trends and motion impacting the success or need for change within the process and organization.
  • Strong capability to create and manage budgets, leverage databases, produce timely reports, communication, analysis and present internally and externally. (Microsoft suite, ppt, database exp. and Zoom/Teams).
  • Must have the ability to be available evenings, weekends and take on extended hours as business needs demand.
  • Must be willing and able to travel within and outside of the service area (employees can use public transportation, rideshare service, personal vehicle, or other means)
  • Must be physically compatible with travel, office visits, events, and meetings.
  • See, hear, and speak with sufficient capability to perform assigned tasks and maintain proper safety conditions.
  • Maintain an acceptable work pace and align with required personal and team deadlines.

  • Perform office tasks using simple hand grasp, fine hand manipulation, and reach associated with assigned tasks such as keying.

Nice To Haves

  • Extended Degree in Nutrition Science, Clinical Nutrition, Public Health Nutrition and/or Food Science.
  • Nutrition Education Certificate is highly preferred.
  • Previous experience working with low income, underserved, migrant or communities in need is highly preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills: ability to build strong relationships and work collaboratively with individuals and teams internally and externally.
  • An exceptional communicator, both in writing and orally; previous public speaking or teaching experience highly preferred.
  • Ability to speak multiple languages a plus.
  • Fluency with Spanish or Mandarin highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a comprehensive strategy.
  • Manage execution, innovation, and integration of the Healthcare Partnerships programs.
  • Predict immediate and future workforce needs; manage work planning, performance, training, and staffing.
  • Lead a team to support communication with program participants (enrollment, feedback surveys), vendors (order placement), and healthcare partners (participant information gathering, enrollment dates), program evaluation and support their professional development.
  • Execute solutions for problem areas, drives improvements and the resolution of road blocks, aligns with budgetary guidelines.
  • Establish and maintain accurate data systems and support the development of partner activity reports, highlighting metrics and trends while incorporating feedback to inform, educate and improve program design.
  • Data target is to translate health -outcomes and program data into actionable insights.
  • Develop and execute a process and system to manage data-sharing agreements.
  • Build program budgets, in collaboration with other departments, while planning for growth by seeking new contracts with prospective healthcare providers.
  • Establish and support a network and pipeline of high value partnerships.
  • Create ways to communicate and growth relationships.
  • Create and develop opportunities and initiatives for partnership funding opportunities.
  • Establish external tools to easily provide support for proposal writing, funder presentations, and partnership pitches.
  • Partner with like-minded organizations to advance Health Equity and Food as Medicine initiatives – promoting healthy food and nutrition education – support our region’s most vulnerable neighbors.
  • Key internal champion for health equity, internally and externally.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to Philabundance and align with related programs and provide guidance to help teams apply health equity lens with communication and processes.
  • Serve as an ambassador for the organization, clearly articulating the role and effectively communicating the Philabundance mission, values and impact to a variety of audiences.
  • Strong alignment with Food Sourcing, PCK, Transportation, Warehouse and Development teams.
  • Works closely with other departments to launch, sustain and grow programs and events.
  • Create tools and produce resources that are easily leveraged internally which include program goals, impact and events.
  • It is important to clearly communicate objects and impact of Home Delivery Programs and related Health Equity work.
  • Create, plan, promote and execute Community Cook-In events – cooking demonstrations for food insecure populations.
  • Coordinate with funders and cross-department teams.
  • Responsible for supporting and aligning with Philabundance Cultural pillars.
  • Ensure communications, actions and interactions reflect a focus on People, Professionalism, Partnerships, and Progress.
  • Assist the Community Food Access team, Partnerships Department and strategic organizational goals as needed.
  • Represent Philabundance in regional health equity coalitions, working groups, and multi-sector collaborations.
  • Engage community stakeholders and advisory groups to ensure programs remain culturally responsive and community informed.
