About The Position

This role is responsible for leading communications for TD’s AI business, translating strategy into stories that build trust, credibility, and share of voice. The position involves shaping TD’s AI narrative by bringing the AI strategy to life through clear, human-centered storytelling across internal and external channels. It also includes leading a proactive, always-on media program, pitching stories, responding to opportunities, and building relationships to position TD as a trusted AI leader. The role provides strategic counsel and develops internal communications to elevate executive voice and thought leadership. It requires bringing an outside-in lens to the Bank's AI narrative and communications, identifying emerging trends to stay relevant and ahead of the conversation. The Manager will create content that connects with diverse audiences, including media pitches, LinkedIn posts, briefing notes, and event materials. The role aims to elevate thought leadership and advance TD's position as a trusted leader in AI by uncovering opportunities to contribute to the broader industry dialogue. It involves translating complex technical concepts into accessible, relevant stories that resonate with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders, and providing guidance on reputational risk and supporting leaders through complex or fast-moving situations. The position also requires using insights and analytics to continuously refine messaging and maximize impact, and collaborating across the bank with AI2, Layer 6, Corporate Communications, and business partners to ensure alignment and consistency. Managing external agency relationships to amplify earned, owned, and paid outcomes is also a key responsibility.

Requirements

  • 7–12 years of experience in corporate communications or an agency environment.
  • Proven strength in media relations – both proactive storytelling and reactive issues management.
  • Experience working with technology, innovation, or AI-related topics (or a strong ability to get up the curve quickly).
  • Exceptional writing skills and a strong instinct for what makes a story land.
  • Ability to take complex ideas and make them simple, relevant, and engaging.
  • Experience advising senior leaders and navigating sensitive or high-stakes communications.
  • Proven ability to develop and deliver internal communications that engage and inform colleagues.
  • Strong collaboration skills and comfort operating in a fast-moving, matrixed environment.
  • Curiosity, creativity, and a bias to action.
