The Manager, Communications plays an advisory role in the development and implementation of best practices in corporate communications, with direct accountability for enhancing the organization’s reputation and proactively managing initiatives and projects that impact public perception of MS Canada. You will play a key role in informing constituents through compelling external communications and will manage the media relations activities for the organization. You will be an active collaborator with members of the organization to shape and deliver messaging to help teams meet their communication and public relations goals, contributing to their objectives.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in managing communications, public relations, and/or media relations plans that support brand identity and image
  • Proven experience in managing media relations, including facilitating inquiries, outreach, and logistics planning
  • Strong writing, editing and project management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills, navigating challenges with tact and diplomacy
  • Highly collaborative and able to build trusting professional relationships with colleagues, external partners, and community members
  • Experience leading a team by providing direction, coaching, and feedback through direct people management and/or project leadership
  • Availability to work occasional weekends and evenings
  • Potential for occasional travel across Canada
