About The Position

The Manager Commercial Sales Support is responsible for managing the staff and activities within a sales support unit assisting with new and renewal business. This role requires associates to be in-office 3 days per week, fostering collaboration and connectivity, while providing flexibility to support productivity and work-life balance. This approach combines structured office engagement with the autonomy of virtual work, promoting a dynamic and adaptable workplace. Alternate locations may be considered if candidates reside within a commuting distance from an office. Candidates not within a reasonable commuting distance from the posting location(s) will not be considered for employment, unless accommodation is granted as required by law.

Requirements

  • Requires a BA/BS and a minimum of 5 years of experience in the health insurance or related industry, including significant experience in at least one area such as Operations, Sales, Service, or Account Management; or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background.

Nice To Haves

  • Leadership experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience supervising a remote staff strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the administrative support to the Sales teams along with providing guidance to Sales Support associates
  • Manages the activities associated with the support of selling, servicing and retaining activities for brokers and clients ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Develops and ensures policy and procedure continuity and oversees processes for consistency.
  • Identifies and implements best practices, including problem solving process improvement, training and development
  • Monitors production activities and provides reporting to leadership
  • Manages and provides guidance on the resolution of routine sales, claims and benefit issues (as necessary)
  • Engages and fosters relationships, both internally and externally, hires, trains, coaches, counsels, and evaluates performance of direct reports.
