About The Position

The Manager, Commercial Funding (Vehicle), provides operational leadership for Commercial Vehicle Finance (CVF) funding, with responsibility for day‑to‑day execution, controls, systems, and continuous improvement within Commercial Finance Operations. This role leads and develops a team of commercial funders, driving funding efficiency, quality, and a strong dealer experience through clear priorities, performance management, and process optimization. In addition, this role will strategize and operationalize as a subject matter expert for funding systems, controls, reporting, and policies, and the development of CVF funding capabilities on the ALFA platform. Partners cross‑functionally with underwriting, sales, servicing, and IT to streamline workflows and enhance system capabilities.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5–7 years’ experience in finance operations (funding/booking, documentation validation, servicing/operations, credit/collections) in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment (e.g., captive finance company, bank, or similar).
  • 0-2 years of people leadership and/or leading large projects, process improvement, controls, or system implementation initiatives.
  • Experience delivering a strong dealer/customer experience, resolving escalations, and partnering cross-functionally (Underwriting, Sales, Servicing, IT).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Operations, or related field or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • Working knowledge of loan/lease funding and booking, documentation and stipulations, and operational risk/controls.
  • Knowledge of applicable federal/state requirements impacting commercial lending/funding/documentation (as applicable to the role and jurisdiction).
  • Understanding of end-to-end commercial finance workflows and handoffs (Underwriting → Funding → Servicing).
  • Ability to set priorities and manage throughput to deliver cycle time, quality, and service level results.
  • Ability to successfully manage, train, develop and mentor direct reports.
  • Strong process improvement and problem-solving skills (root cause analysis, control design, standard work).
  • Strong reporting and metrics skills (define KPIs, build/interpret reports; strong Excel).
  • Ability to translate operational needs into business requirements and partner effectively with IT/vendors (requirements, UAT, release/change management).
  • Clear written and verbal communication; effective stakeholder management across functions and with external partners (dealers).
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work in a team environment and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities and tight deadlines.
  • Ability to make sound decisions using data, policy, and risk awareness; escalate issues appropriately.
  • Ability to influence without authority and drive adoption of process/system changes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including advanced Excel skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Commercial vehicle finance experience preferred.
  • ALFA and/or Daybreak system knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day operational leadership for CVF funding/booking activities to meet service level expectations, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Establish and communicate clear daily/weekly priorities; balance pipeline, exceptions, and resourcing to optimize funding cycle time and throughput.
  • Ensure accurate validation of documentation, stipulations, and booking requirements; enforce operational controls to reduce risk, rework, and exceptions.
  • Drive a strong dealer experience through timely communications, issue resolution, and consistent funding guidance aligned to policy.
  • Serve as the CVF funding subject matter expert (SME) for systems, controls, workflow design, reporting needs, and funding policy translation into system rules.
  • Partner with IT, vendors, and business stakeholders to define requirements and support design, testing, implementation, and adoption of enhancements to the ALFA platform from the funding/booking perspective.
  • Identify best practices and friction points in the end-to-end funding process; recommend solutions that streamline workflows, improve controls, and enhance user experience.
  • Support release planning and change management by coordinating UAT, training readiness, communications, and post-implementation monitoring to ensure stable performance.
  • Create, validate, and monitor funding reporting (e.g., volumes, cycle times, exception rates, aging/backlog, rework drivers) and ensure data integrity and consistent methodology.
  • Analyze trends and root causes; present insights and recommendations to leadership to drive measurable process improvements and stronger operational controls.
  • Track and report progress against initiatives, action plans, and service level performance; escalate risks and propose mitigation when targets are at risk.
  • Partner cross-functionally with underwriting, sales, servicing, collections, and IT to streamline end-to-end workflows, improve handoffs, and close process gaps.
  • Develop, maintain, and operationalize funding policies, procedures, job aids, and controls; ensure consistent application across the team and alignment with compliance requirements.
  • Deliver training and communications to internal teams and, as applicable, dealers/partners regarding process changes, system updates, and funding requirements.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop team members by providing direction, performance feedback, and support to ensure effective collaboration, professional growth, and achievement of organizational and personal goals.
