About The Position

Currently, the Aetna Digital team is seeking a Manager - Cloud Engineering who as an individual contributor will also serve as team lead over a small team of engineers by providing strategic leadership and overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of cloud-based infrastructure and services. Additionally, this Engineer will coordinate the development of cloud solutions, ensure optimal performance, scalability, security, and compliance, and drive continuous improvement in cloud operations to meet the organization's strategic objectives and support business growth.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of overall software development engineering experience
  • 3+ years of experience with Azure cloud
  • 1+ year of experience mentoring and guiding fellow engineers
  • 1+ year of experience in participating within design and/or developing technical roadmaps
  • Bachelor’s degree or, equivalent experience (HS diploma + 4 years relevant experience)

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of cloud infrastructure schematics, visualizations, and final solutions
  • Develop and automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management using tools like Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
  • Determine security policies, practices, and controls to protect and secure cloud resources and data
  • Develop and execute strategies for cloud resource allocation, capacity planning, and optimization
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards related to cloud security
  • Coordinate and participate in incident response and troubleshooting for cloud infrastructure-related issues
  • Ensure quality and consistency by managing relationships with cloud service providers and vendors, ensuring alignment with business requirements and service-level agreements
  • Build a high-performing team by conducting performance evaluations, providing feedback, and identifying opportunities for skills development and career growth
  • Manage team performance through regular, timely feedback as well as the formal performance review process to ensure delivery of exceptional services and engagement, motivation, and team development
