About The Position

This job manages the company's clinical value analysis process to provide high quality, efficient, and cost-effective products, and services. Establishes and adheres to a streamlined method for standardizing and monitoring product/service selection, utilization, quality/outcomes and costs. Creates comparative matrices, works with customers, facilitates recommendations, and reviews proposed contracts with accordance of the Contract Director. Manages and leads value analysis process through the Clinical Value Analysis Committees, System Integration Councils, and Supply Stewardship Councils. Requirements

  • Technical certificate from an accredited clinical program.
  • 5 years of experience in utilization of clinical products including experience in a hospital with Cath Lab, Cardiology, Operating Room, ICU, Emergency Department, Laboratory, or Respiratory.
  • Must have computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of information.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals.
  • Must be proficient with Windows-style applications, various software packages specific to role and keyboard.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently.
  • Leadership, program planning and development, project management, performance improvement and quality management skills.
  • Superior negotiating skills and ability to gain consensus between physicians, nursing administration and vendors.
  • Knowledge of medical supply chain and related clinical indicators within an acute care setting.
  • Ability to analyze Diagnosis Related Groups cost, quality, outcomes, utilization profitability data, and compare utilization among Diagnosis Related Groups.

Nice To Haves

  • Clinical Focused Degrees: Registered Nurse, LPN, Surgical Technologist, Respiratory Therapist, Laboratory Technologist, or Dietician.
  • 5 years of inventory management experience.
  • Professional certification and/or license in clinical specialty.

Responsibilities

  • Manages and leads the Clinical Value Analysis Committees, Value Analysis Process in the System Integration Councils, and Supply Stewardship Councils.
  • Manages the Backorder Process to identify clinical equivalent substitute products or services.
  • Serves as a clinical resource for the system involving any product or services inquiries.
  • Manages integration process for products or services with new facilities or conversions.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Remains knowledgeable on current federal, state and local laws, accreditation standards or regulatory agency requirements that apply to the assigned area of responsibility and ensures compliance with all such laws, regulations and standards.
