About The Position

The Manager, Clinical Research Business Office (CRBO) is part of the leadership team within Research Administration. The Manager, CRBO is responsible for the development, implementation, and management of policies, procedures, and system-wide processes that ensure the compliant and efficient operations of the business and back-office functions of clinical research at OSF Healthcare including: research-related contracts/agreements, budget development, financial analysis/tracking/reporting, Medicare coverage analysis, research-related billing (Epic based). This includes actively monitoring changes in regulation, policy, and national benchmarks in the research industry that relate to business and operational considerations in the conduct of research at OSF Healthcare System. The Manager, CRBO serves as a subject matter expert & educator to clinical research operations teams related to research finance & billing processes, policies, & regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree
  • 3 years in a financial, healthcare administration, research, project management or professional business-related experience
  • 1 year experience with financial analysis and report generation
  • Research certification (i.e. - SoCRA, HCCA, ACRP or MAGI) - within 2 years of hire
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented.

  • Experience building databases
  • Experience in conducting and/or overseeing human subjects research (e.g., terminology, methodology, IRB, ethics, compliance, etc.)
  • Familiarity with research administration/clinical trial management systems, IRB and/or electronic document handling programs (e.g., IRBNet, IRBManager, Cayuse, CITI)
  • Knowledge of Medicare regulations regarding research billing, best business practices/strategies for industry relationships, contract & budget negotiations
