About The Position

Performs administrative duties essential to completion of the mission and objectives of all processes pertaining to clinical practices in the TWU Educator Preparation Program (EPP). Responsibilities include serving as a liaison between TWU academic departments, schools, and divisions as well as Texas school districts and coordinating all activities and processes related to field experiences, clinical teaching, residencies, and internships for initial teacher certification candidates. Work is performed under general supervision and performance is based upon completion of assignments and results obtained. The performance evaluation is conducted through the performance evaluation system and in accordance with the University Policies & Procedures.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree.
  • Minimum of two years of teaching experience in a PreK-12 grade classroom required.
  • Regular and reliable attendance at the University during regular scheduled days and work hours is an essential function of this position.
  • All employees share the responsibility of maintaining information security and privacy requirements within the university by adhering to Federal and State regulations, and TWU Policies & Procedures.
  • Ability to plan, direct, and evaluate a complex operation, using human resources, technology, time, funds, and other resources for the accomplishment of long-term and short-term goals of the institution.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and community stakeholders.
  • Ability to organize work effectively, conceptualize and prioritize objectives, and exercise independent judgment based on an understanding of organizational policies and activities.
  • Ability to integrate resources, policies, and information for the determination of procedures, solutions, and other outcomes.
  • Ability to demonstrate compliance with rules, regulations, and legislation from governing bodies including but not limited to the Texas Education Agency, State Board for Educator.
  • Ability to use a personal computer and other office equipment, including related university software and email.
  • Knowledge of certification requirements and State Board of Education standards.
  • Ability to communicate effectively by electronic and in-person methods.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience as a PK-12 field supervisor preferred.
  • Experience working in a university setting preferred.
  • Experience working with residency pathways preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Cultivates meaningful partnerships with school districts, school district personnel, and community stakeholders.
  • Collaborates with faculty and staff in colleges, schools, departments, and divisions who work with students in the Educator Preparation Program.
  • Utilizes data to formulate and recommend policies and procedural guidelines for high-quality field experiences and clinical practices.
  • Plans and coordinates orientations, seminars, and training for teacher candidates, university field supervisors and site supervisors/mentor teachers.
  • Communicates effectively with all TWU EPP faculty, staff, students, and district/community partners.
  • Demonstrates fluency with specific software and technology such as Google Suite, Microsoft Office, TK20, Colleague, Adobe, and others.
  • Assists the Director of Educator Preparation as needed.
  • Supports advanced/professional certification practicum placements as needed.
  • Performs other duties as requested.
