About The Position

The Manager - Clinical Lab is responsible for the operational and fiscal management of the clinical laboratory and pathology in accordance with established hospital and department policies and standards. The role ensures compliance with regulatory requirements mandated by applicable state and federal accrediting and licensing agencies. Special projects or other assignments may be provided with specified completion timeframes. The manager must be prepared to participate in bench testing and perform routine laboratory testing as departmental needs require.

Requirements

• Current and valid state license if required in the state where the laboratory is located.
• ASCP certification or equivalent.
• Bachelor’s degree in chemical, physical, or biological science, or Medical Laboratory Technology from an accredited institution, or other educational requirements stated in CLIA (42 CFR 493.1489).
• Five years of hospital laboratory work experience.
• Two years of laboratory supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage the operational and fiscal activities of the clinical laboratory and pathology.
• Ensure compliance with applicable state and federal regulatory, accrediting, and licensing requirements.
• Complete special projects and other assignments within specified timeframes.
• Participate in bench testing as departmental needs require.
• Perform routine laboratory testing to support the department as needed.
