About The Position

Under the direction of the VP Corporate and Community Health Services, this position has responsibility to develop, implement, and manage outreach and educational programs for the Chinese community. The Manager will partner with Community Benefits, Business Development and Community Relations leaders to develop and implement effective marketing and business plan and communication strategies that reach specific target audiences. The Manager will chair advisory boards consisting of volunteer physicians and community leaders to engage the Chinese community in the Chinese Health Initiative. The manager will engage the community through management of such activities as health education and screening events. The manager will recruit and manage volunteers. In addition, the Manager CHI will work with Hospital's inpatient and outpatient managers to increase cultural sensitivity regarding the beliefs and preferences of Chinese people in a multicultural work environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in social science, business, or healthcare related field or equivalent education from an accredited college or university.
  • Five years marketing, communications, education, and/or community outreach with program development experience in health care preferred.
  • Cultural and ethnic expertise in the Chinese community in the greater Bay Area.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to work with a range of constituents including physicians, staff, volunteers and community leaders.
  • Proven track record of building successful partnerships.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be fluent in English and Mandarin, who can accurately speak, read and easily interpret Mandarin.
