About The Position

Under the direction of the Director of Business Operations, manages the day-to-day operations of the Owens Early Learning Center located on the Findlay Campus. This includes the development, recommendation, and administration of procedures and processes to ensure that the Center's operations meet the standards for child care center licensing laws and the highest rating by the State of Ohio Step Up to Quality program. The manager is also responsible for accurate tracking of financial transactions and keeping the Center within an annual budget.

Bachelor's degree in the field of Early Childhood Education, Special Education, or Child and Family Studies

Responsibilities

Plan, supervise and evaluate all activities related to Owens Child Care Center programs.
Maintains a safe and secure environment for children and staff.
Supervises staff of the center, coaching in job performance as needed, maintaining open lines of communication and providing forums for center feedback.
Works with staff to create a developmentally appropriate curriculum which addresses the inclusion of the arts, in-depth project work and the State of Ohio Early Learning Development Standards (OLDS) for all enrolled children.
Develop and maintain a curriculum that serves as a quality model for Owens education students and the broader community.
Develops and enforces center policies in conjunction with State of Ohio Licensing regulations and/or Ohio's Step Up To Quality (SUTO) Rating system.
Follow all established procedures for handling emergency situations, including child emergencies, building emergencies and weather emergencies in conjunction with Owens security and appropriate state agencies, particularly the Ohio Department of Jobs and Family Services (ODJFS).
Operates the center within the fiscal budget and subsidy approved for the fiscal year.
Reviews, develops and presents an annual budget, along with the Director of Business Operations, which meets college expectations.
Manages and reviews daily financial transactions of the Center.
Coordinates the operations, services and maintenance of the child care center in conjunction with appropriate stakeholders including but not limited to: Owens' expectations, state regulatory agencies, families, community child care centers, community child advocate groups and the Department of Teacher Education and Human Services.
Coordinates and reviews with all employees their annual performance appraisal.
Works with Parents to create a positive learning environment for children and families.
Provides parents with the opportunities to provide feedback on programming and the opportunities for teachers and parents to meet for conferences.
Provides a supportive environment for families during children's developmental evaluations and subsequent decision making conferences.
Plan, develop and conduct staff development programs for all center staff for the purpose of effectively using the strengths of all teachers.
Interview and hire candidates for all open center positions.
Conduct orientation for new staff in conjunction with Owens HR expectations and Ohio Step Up To Quality (SUTO) expectations.
Establish fee collection procedures.
Other duties as assigned
Obtain and maintain NAEYC Accreditation and/or a Gold rating from Ohio's Step Up To Quality (SUTO) Rating System.
