This position will report to: Head of Procurement. FLSA Status: Exempt. Shift:1. Employment Category: Full-Time Regular. Pay Range: $92,500 to $125,550. JOB STATEMENT: As Bronco develops a more strategic sourcing organization, this role of Category Manager will play a key role in modernizing our procurement processes. As a Category Manager, you will help build and execute sourcing strategies that reduce costs, create supplier competition, and improve how purchasing is executed across key direct material categories (e.g., glass, packaging). This role is forward-looking and strategy oriented. You will work on supplier selection, cost structure analysis, and building alternative supply. This role is designed to build toward full category ownership over time. You’ll gain exposure to supplier strategy, cost modeling, and sourcing decisions—and develop into a Category Manager who owns both strategy and execution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Business, Engineering, or related field
  • 1–3 years of experience in procurement, analytics, or supply chain
  • Strong analytical skills (Excel required)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be skilled in the use of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Proficient presentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Supports development of sourcing strategies for assigned categories
  • Analyzes where we buy, from whom, and at what cost
  • Identifies opportunities to improve cost, structure, and supplier mix
  • Identifies and evaluates new suppliers (domestic and global)
  • Supports supplier qualification and onboarding
  • Uses data to identify savings opportunities, sourcing priorities, supplier alternatives, and cost improvement actions
  • Helps build a credible alternative supply base
  • Analyzes supplier pricing, cost drivers, and market benchmarks
  • Breaks down cost components (materials, conversion, logistics)
  • Supports cost reduction initiatives (target: 5–10%+)
  • Analyzes demand across plants and contract manufacturing
  • Identifies opportunities to consolidate volume and standardize formats
  • Supports efforts to increase buying leverage
  • Supports RFQs, supplier comparisons, and sourcing decisions
  • Prepares data and analysis for negotiations
  • Tracks progress on sourcing initiatives
  • Partners with Operations, Finance, Marketing, consumer and Quality to support sourcing decisions
  • Aligns sourcing strategy with production and supply needs
  • Participates in kaizen or other related continuous improvement activities
  • Demonstrates knowledge of Operations/Supply Chain Department Strategy and participates in the development and execution of the Department Action Plan.
  • Identifies Continuous Improvement opportunities within the Procurement organization.
  • Develops cost justifications/business cases in support of continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Responsible for understanding and complying with ISO standards and associated processes.
