About The Position

At Doctors of BC, the Manager, Business Analysis plays a key leadership role in enabling effective project and initiative delivery by overseeing a team of Business Analysts who support the Project Management Office (PMO). This role is accountable for ensuring high-quality business analysis practices, consistent standards, and effective analytical support to projects and operational initiatives. The Manager provides leadership, direction, and oversight to the team, ensuring analysis activities align with PMO priorities, portfolio planning, and organizational objectives. They establish and continuously improve business analysis methodologies, tools, templates, and quality standards for various project phases. The role collaborates with leaders in integrated planning and portfolio management, providing analytical insight and supporting initiative scoping. Working closely with Technology & Digital Transformation (TDT) and other departments, the Manager ensures Business Analysts effectively support initiative scoping, requirements definition, process mapping, partner engagement, data analysis, and the translation of business needs into functional requirements and user stories. The role also supports idea intake and early-stage assessment by providing structured analysis and impact assessments. As a people leader, the Manager coaches and develops the Business Analyst team, fostering sustainable workloads and professional growth. They collaborate with peers to ensure optimal allocation of analytical capacity. This role requires operating across strategic and operational perspectives, identifying systemic risks and opportunities, and engaging in detailed analysis. Through innovation, strong facilitation, collaboration with Project Managers and technical teams, and the promotion of consistent practices, the Manager shapes a high-impact business analysis function that enables organizational effectiveness and long-term transformation.

Requirements

  • A university degree and/or a recognized professional designation, in Business or another related field, and at least three years of experience leading and managing people; or having an equivalent level of related work experience in-lieu of post-secondary education.
  • A minimum of 5 years operating in a business analysis role, within an organization delivering on a multi-year transformation agenda.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to guide, coach, and develop Business Analysts while delivering high-quality outcomes across complex projects.
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to assess options, evaluate risks, identify mitigation strategies, and support well-reasoned decision-making in complex environments.
  • Deep knowledge of business analysis practices including process analysis, requirements gathering, user story development, and functional documentation.
  • Strong experience guiding Business Analysts in the development of high-quality user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional requirements.
  • Experience working within Agile, hybrid, or traditional project delivery frameworks.
  • Demonstrated ability to proactively identify gaps in project readiness, anticipating analysis, documentation, and stakeholder alignment needs.
  • Exceptional communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to translate complex concepts into clear insights and bring diverse stakeholders together to drive alignment.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to establish trust and credibility across all levels of the organization, including senior leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence without authority and support leaders and teams through system, process, and behavioural change.
  • A growth mindset and comfort working in ambiguity, with the ability to adapt and move forward effectively when information is evolving.
  • Experience establishing or maintaining standards for business analysis practices, including requirements quality, documentation frameworks, and user story consistency across projects.

Nice To Haves

  • Formal change management training (e.g., PROSCI, Kotter, or similar) is considered an asset.
  • Experience leading or supporting organizational change and transformation initiatives.

Responsibilities
