About The Position

The Manager, Branch is responsible for planning, directing, and overseeing all functions of an assigned location, which could be an express center, a full-service branch, or a cluster of branches. This role ensures quality Member service experiences, maintains audit compliance within the branch, directs branch efforts to achieve credit union goals, and provides coaching and development to assistant managers, supervisors, and team members to enhance the Member service experience. The position utilizes lending authority to make sound loan decisions and develops strategies to increase Member participation by focusing on quality service in all team member interactions. Additionally, the Manager, Branch attracts new Members through community engagement, conducts staff training on outreach efforts, and creates an environment for a world-class Member experience. They provide consultative services to Members regarding credit union products and services, ensuring team members do the same by assessing Member needs, addressing concerns, and gaining agreement. The role also involves maintaining consumer loan decision authority, assisting the team with escalated lending situations, and directing branch marketing efforts. The Manager, Branch researches, evaluates, and implements department and/or divisional projects, provides daily support to team members, manages financial objectives through budgeting and expenditure analysis, and contributes to organizational goals as a member of the Management team. They evaluate operating procedures and policies to ensure high levels of Member service, productivity, and internal control, and initiate projects to benefit Members, team members, or department operations. Ensuring compliance with state and federal laws and regulations is crucial, as is understanding and achieving credit union organizational goals and key performance indicators. The role also includes performing other assigned duties and complying with regulatory compliance and training requirements, including BSA regulations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent years of experience required
  • 5-7 years of prior functional experience required
  • 1-3 years of prior management experience required
  • Participation in the CA DMV pull program may be required depending on assignment

Responsibilities

  • Planning, directing, and overseeing all functions of assigned location (express center, full service branch or cluster of branches)

  • Provides consultative services to Members regarding credit union products and services and ensures that teammembers are providing consultative services by assessing the Member's needs, addressing their concerns and gaining agreement

  • Provides daily support to teammembers, including answering questions and problem resolution, communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; training, coaching, counseling, and disciplining teammembers; developing, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, procedures, and productivity standards
  • Accomplishes financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures and analyzing variances
  • Contributes to organizational goals and priorities as a member of Management team
  • Establishes and implements plans that have short-term (1-2 year) impact on business results in alignment with organization objectives

  • Initiates, researches, coordinates and implements department or division projects intended to benefit Members, internal teammembers or department operations
  • Ensures compliance with state and federal laws as well as any other applicable regulations
  • Understands the Credit Union organizational goals and key performance indicators and takes the necessary actions to achieve desired results

  • Complies with regulatory compliance and assigned training requirements including but not limited to BSA regulations corresponding to their specific job duties
