Position Summary: Assists the Director, Clinical Research Service Line Operations, in the responsibilities for the daily operational needs of Biospecimen management in the Clinical Trials Office (CTO). Demonstrates in-depth knowledge and understanding of tissue and specimen procurement, processing and shipping. Actively works to ensure best practices in these areas including inventory management and distribution throughout the organization. Able to collaborate with peers, subordinates and supervisors in constructive problem solving as well as to facilitate frequent team building interactions with staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree
  • 5 years of experience in Clinical Research or laboratory science
  • 1 year of experience in a leadership capacity
  • IATA (within 3 months of hire)

Responsibilities

  • Individual must have the ability to influence people through the use of effective communication and facts, provide supervision of staff, participate in hiring, assign work schedules, coach, train, completes annual performance evaluations and provide disciplinary actions, as required.
  • Responsible for participating in the oversight of daily operations, including staffing and scheduling of department staff to assure efficient and timely management of human specimen collection and shipping.
  • The incumbent must have knowledge of the clinical research process and regulations.
  • Be a positive role model for assigned area(s).

  • Manage departmental programs aligned with Clinical Trials goals and support new technology implementation
  • Supervise biospecin staff, including scheduling, hiring, onboarding, and development
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, safety, and quality standards; monitor performance and metrics
  • Oversee biospecimen operations (collection, processing, inventory, storage, and shipping)
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to improve efficiency and support budget monitoring
