About The Position

The Manager of Clinical Engineering provides hands on leadership for the Biomedical Services department, combining technical expertise with administrative oversight to ensure safe, reliable patient care technology. This role leads while maintaining active technical involvement in the daily operations of a team of Biomedical Technicians and collaborates across departments to ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory standards. The Manager champions a “right the first time” culture, continuous improvement, and a strong focus on safety.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree (or two-year technical degree) in Biomedical Equipment Technology, Electronics, Clinical Engineering, or a closely related field or; Completion of formal military biomedical equipment technician (BMET) training combined with substantial applicable technical experience.
  • One of the following certifications: Certified Healthcare Technology Manager (CHTM), Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET), or Certified Clinical Engineer (CCE).
  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in biomedical equipment maintenance, clinical engineering, or a comparable technical field, including leadership responsibilities (e.g., Lead Technician, project lead, or supervisory roles).
  • Demonstrated progression of responsibility within healthcare technology management.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Healthcare Technology Management, or a related field.
  • Experience in a hospital or multi facility healthcare system.
  • Prior formal supervisory experience directing technical staff.
  • Familiarity with Joint Commission–accredited environments, critical care equipment support, and regulatory compliance in a healthcare setting.
